In his spare time, Mr. Wood enjoys running. One of the great milestones of his life marked his completion of the New York City Marathon. He also enjoys hunting, biking, and rock climbing. While some people drive to the top of Pikes Peak, Chris likes to hike up the mountain. And, for his mid-life crisis, he has started a "passionate love affair" with OU football! Mr. Wood's first job was sailing on ocean-going ships in the merchant marine. "My dad used to say 'shape up or ship out', so I am not sure what it means that my first job was sailing." This experience brought Mr. Wood exposure to people from many different cultures around the world. From delivering jet fuel to NATO bases in the Artic Circle to taking food to the starving millions in Sudan, Mr. Wood has a broad range of experience in the world to draw from. Mr. Wood also has personal experience in the real estate industry. Mr. Wood and his wife own and manage a family real estate business consisting of residential and commercial properties. As Mayor of Warr Acres, Mr. Wood set up a juvenile court system to address the needs of youth with minor infractions that escaped the larger county court systems. This court allows more individual attention for each child. The court system was credited with cutting the amount of fights in schools by one-half. Mr. Wood's proudest accomplishment is his family and marriage. The Woods have two children, an 11 year old diva named Rachel and a 5 year old human projectile named Noah. They live in Warr Acres - the Northwest Metro area of Oklahoma City. Mr. Wood is an active member of his church, currently serving as a gospel doctrine teacher.
